Jan Preece started his jewellery career at 16 years old. Jan completed a traditional goldsmith apprenticeship with George Howcroft jewellery in Sussex UK. After five years of training Jan came to Hong Kong and worked for a jewellery company as a bench jeweller. After working in traditional fabrication of fine jewellery Jan wanted to have creative freedom and so started Jan Preece jewellery in 1993. Starting his own business lead to many career developments. Creating his own collection and selling in major department stores. Creating bespoke designs for private customers. Creating corporate jewellery for businesses. Exhibiting his designs at galleries across Hong Kong.

It was time to share his skills with the next generation of jewellery makers. Jan Preece jewellery studios aim is to open the often closed doors of a jewellery workshop and share the secrets and joy of jewellery making with anyone interested in jewellery. keeping alive the tradition of classic jewellery making, creating new jewellers for the past 12 years.
